Rebranded Sign

The design strategy centered on continuity and respect. Rather than replacing the original signage, contemporary branding elements were carefully integrated into the existing historic structure — maintaining the visual weight and material presence, while acknowledging the site's architectural evolution. The result is a quiet dialogue between past and present.

Materials

High Density Urethane (HDU), copper, gold leaf, bronze, Wiarton stone

Rebranding materials: brushed stainless steel and painted metal, creating a dialogue between heritage and modernity.

Handcrafted in its entirety, using traditional tools and techniques.

Peel Heritage Complex

Located in the heart of downtown Brampton, the Peel Heritage Complex brings together a regional museum, archives, and art gallery within a cluster of civic buildings — including the former Peel County Jail.

The signage program was designed to echo the weight and formality of the site’s architecture while remaining quiet and contemporary. Materials were chosen for durability and tone — brushed aluminum, painted steel, and subtle dimensional detailing — to complement both the historical masonry and modern additions.

The result is a cohesive wayfinding and identity system that reinforces the site’s civic presence while honouring its layered past.
