Creemore Village Green

Creemore is a small, historic village tucked into a valley along the Niagara Escarpment in Southern Georgian Bay. Known for its charm and character, the community takes pride in preserving its early Ontario roots.

The signage for the Village Green was designed to sit quietly within this context — drawing from the village’s architectural language, railway heritage, and the contemporary lines of the new landscape design. The result is a system that feels both rooted and current, timeless and in-place.

The Design:

The signage features a clean, understated design with early 20th-century industrial and Art Deco influences.

The main entrance sign is a 16-foot pylon constructed with a steel post core, wood-framed interior, and High Density Urethane (HDU) cladding. It’s finished in water-based paint with hand-applied 24kt gold leaf. Dimensional lettering in brushed aluminum is offset-mounted to cast subtle shadows, adding depth and legibility. The decorative crown is hand-wrought steel — a quiet nod to the area’s railway and industrial heritage.

Supporting elements — including directional signs, bulletin panels, labels, and plaques — follow the same design language and material integrity, creating a cohesive system throughout the site.
