Signs for a Village Green
Village Greens are common throughout Europe. They are urban green spaces in the center of towns and villages as an open-air meeting place for local people, which are typically used for public celebrations and festivities.
Design Brief
Creemore is a small charming village tucked in a Valley along the Niagara Escarpment in Southern Georgian Bay. This classic early Ontario community is proud of its history and takes care to preserve its heritage.
The Signs for this park were designed to visually integrate with the the village’s early Ontario architecture, railway heritage and modern landscape design.
The Design:
A clean, simple design with an early 20th century industrial and Art Deco flavour .
The main entrance sign shown here is a 16 ft tall pylon with a metal post core, wood interior frame, High Density Urethane (HDU) sheathing and top feature. The finish is water based paint and 24kt gold leaf. The letters are brushed aluminum that is projected mounted to create a shadow. The metal decorative piece is hand wrought steel.
Other components such as directional, bulletin, label signs and plaques follow the same design criteria, construction and construction.

The gallery below are some photos of the construction and installation process that is ongoing. The completion of the project is scheduled for the end of July 2022
