There is a meditative quality to running. The rhythmic pace and breathing with the accompanying scenery of the lush hills, clears your mind of clutter and grounds you in the moment. It allows thoughts and emotions to become unstuck and process through. On my run a couple of days ago under moody skies my thoughts drifted to those who are engaged in quiet, epic battles, seeking the light in the darkness. Retaining hope and probity through abusive relationships, poverty, ill health and the like. Choosing an enlightened path by not turning their suffering onto the world or inward so to distort their spirit.
