As summer gives itself over to fall there is a a return to a reassuring routine. Such a great time of year - Autumn breezes, vibrant colours and the smell of burning hardwood in the cool fresh air. Local artist Ruth Anne Pierce commented about the irony of the countryside feeling visceral and alive when the landscape around us is dying.
One of the traditions of the season is Oktoberfest - the celebration of the harvest.
This is an illustration created for the branding of a local Oktoberfest. The image was an an attempt to catch the energy and slightly crazed exuberance of it's mascot, King Ludwig. It was carried throughout their promotional materials including a 30 ft backlit canvas that hung over the festivities.
